News Release: Teen Tech Week Events at Johnson County Library

The Johnson County Library will provide several events for teens at Library locations in March.

Teens may drop by any of the 13 Johnson County Library locations to participate in the Teen Tech Week Challenge from March 7 -20, or participate online 24/7 at www.jocoteenscene.org/teentech where they can play Teen Tech Bingo. Teens can score a bingo spot for each tech activity completed. Sample bingo activities include “Create an Avatar” or “Create a Photo Mashup”. Prizes will be awarded for a bingo and blackout. Registration is not necessary.

A Teen Tech Week Gaming Throwdown will be held on Friday, March 19, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Johnson County Central Resource Library, 9875 W. 87th St., Overland Park. Teen gaming masters, ages 10-18, are encouraged to put spring break to good use and win cool prizes by showing their skills. Check online at www.jocoteenscene.org/teentech for game details. Registration begins February 20; call (913) 495-2400 to register. Include e-mail address for a reminder.

Library programs are free and open to the public; no registration required. Interpretive services and other accommodations for those with special needs are available by contacting Library staff at least 48 hours in advance of the program.
